National Volunteer Month: A Time to "Celebrate Service"
By commrels @ 7:11 AM :: 2080 Views

Since 1974, our Nation has set aside time in April to recognize volunteers for their service to our communities. This year, April 21-27 has been designated as National Volunteer Week with the theme “Celebrating Service.” We proudly join this celebration as a time to recognize and give thanks to the wonderful volunteers who support our mission and vision. Every day, volunteers freely contribute of their time, talents and resources to help others. They mentor children, help seniors with their finances, counsel on insurance concerns, support nursing home residents, advocate for important causes, lift spirits with music and support community partners. Volunteer leaders who serve on our Board and Advisory Council set polices and establish program priorities by providing expert guidance to our staff. We take this opportunity to recognize volunteers who make a difference in the lives of the individuals we serve every day. Please join us again this year in recognizing and celebrating all volunteers during April. We extend special thanks as we “celebrate service” and recognize the importance of volunteers during April and throughout the year.
