National Volunteer Month: "Celebrating and Recognizing the Extraordinary Service of Community Volunteers"

Since 1974, our Nation has set aside time in April to recognize volunteers for their service to our communities.  This year, April 6-12 has been designated as National Volunteer Week with the opportunity to "engage citizens through service and celebrate shared responsibility and contributions to our communities."  We proudly join this celebration as a time to recognize and give thanks to the wonderful volunteers who support the mission and vision of Senior Connections.  Every day, volunteers freely contribute of their time, talents and resources to help others.  They mentor children, help seniors with their finances, counsel on insurance concerns, file taxes, support nursing home residents, help caregivers, advocate for important causes, lift spirits with music and support community partners.  Volunteers also set policies and establish program priorities by providing expert guidance to our staff.  We take this opportunity to recognize volunteers who make a difference in the lives of the individuals we serve every day.  Please join us in recognizing and celebrating all volunteers.  We extend special thanks and best wishes as we "celebrate service" and recognize the importance of volunteers during April and throughout the year.
