On October 8, 2014, we will hold our 11th Annual Empty Plate Luncheon and Recognition Program at Trinity Family Life Center. This event is made possible through the generosity of our sponsors and supporters. This year marks the 11th Anniversary of our Empty Plate Campaign. We recognize our presenting sponsors Bon Secours, CareMore, Dominion, Genworth and MH West and Company. We have many new sponsors joining this year and we are very grateful. This year’s guest speaker is Mr. Mark Gordon, CEO of Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center in Chesterfield. This year’s Community Service Award will be presented to Mrs. Gloria Johnson, a retired educator and Secretary of Senior Connections Board of Directors. The Phoebe and Frank Hall Award for Humanitarian Service to Vintage Virginians will be presented to Mrs. Sherry Peterson, CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association, Richmond Chapter.
With anticipated proceeds from this year’s luncheon, we will be able to fill more empty plates for needy seniors and caregivers who often have no other sources of assistance. We will be able to assist them with meals, rides, home care and other critical needs. The generosity of our contributors gives much hope for the future. Therefore, as we prepare for this year’s Luncheon, we extend special thanks to those who have already contributed to our Empty Plate Campaign. We also extend a special invitation to others who may wish to contribute to this important effort before October 8, 2014. Your contributions will enable us to reach our modest goal of $60,000.00 that is needed to fill the empty plates of older adults and caregivers in our communities.
You may contribute on our website or send your checks to Senior Connections, CAAA at 24 East Cary Street, Richmond, VA 23219. Please be sure to save the date for this year’s 11th Annual Empty Plate Luncheon and Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, October 8, 2014. We look forward to having you with us. Thanks for helping us fill “empty plates” this year and into the future!
