Public Comment Sessions on Area Plan for Aging Services
Focus on Transportation
A variety of events and recognitions have been held to celebrate Older Americans Month during May and many will continue throughout the year. The City of Richmond and the Counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent and Powhatan have enacted proclamations that recognize older citizens and the contributions they make every day. These Proclamations also recognize older citizens as valuable resources. Thank you for joining in community activities and finding ways to celebrate and recognize older adults and caregivers throughout the year by “aging out loud,” this year’s theme for Older Americans Month. “Aging out loud” reflects on the positive nature of aging for all of us and encourages advocacy on issues that impact older adults and people of all ages.
We are in the process of “aging out loud” as we seek input for the Agency’s Four Year Plan for Aging Services with a focus on transportation. We will be convening community sessions at 10 a.m. on the following dates:
• Monday, June 19 at Good Shepherd Baptist Church Friendship Café at 1127 N. 28th Street, Richmond 23223
• Tuesday, June 20 at Shiloh Baptist Church Friendship Café at 106 S. James Street, Ashland 23005
• Thursday, June 22 at West Richmond Church of the Brethren Church Friendship Café at 7612 Wanymala Road, Henrico 23229
We hope you will join us for one of these sessions and “age out loud” with us. Thank you.
