On October 12, 2011, we held our most successful Empty Plate Luncheon and Awards Celebration at the Science Museum of Virginia.  This was a glorious occasion made possible through the generosity of our sponsors, award honorees, supporters and attendees.  This year marked the 8th Anniversary of our Empty Plate Campaign.  We will be able to fill more empty plates for needy seniors who often have no other sources of assistance.  We will be able to assist them with meals, rides, home care and other critical needs.  The generosity of our contributors gives much hope for the future.  Therefore, as the year 2011 closes as a curtain does and we look forward with great anticipation to the dawn of 2012, we extend sincere thanks to those who have already contributed to our Empty Plate Campaign.  We also extend a special invitation to others who may wish to contribute to this important effort before the close of this year's Campaign on December 31, 2011.  Your year-end gifts will enable us to reach our modest goal of $50,000 that is needed to fill the empty plates of older adults and caregivers in our communities.  You may contribute on our website or send your checks to Senior Connections, CAAA at 24 East Cary Street, Richmond, VA 23219.  Please be sure to save the date for next year's 9th Annual Empty Plate Luncheon and Celebration on Wednesday, October 10, 2012.  We look forward to having you with us.  Meanwhile, we extend best wishes for the holiday season.  Thanks for helping us fill "empty plates" all year long!
