Celebrating 35 Years of Service to Seniors!
Our Goal: "To serve as a resource in the community for seniors and caregivers who need assistance in planning for and making decisions later in life."
Our Mission: "To assist seniors to live with dignity and choices in their homes and communities."
Our Vision: "To encourage and empower seniors to improve and maintain their quality of life."
Senior Connections, The Capital Area Agency on Aging is dedicated to helping seniors maintain quality of life and independence as they age.
Established in 1973 as one of 25 Area Agencies on Aging (AoAs) in the State of Virginia, Senior Connections is governed by a Board of Directors and operates as a private, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization. As a nonprofit, the Agency accepts donations of items, services, monetary gifts and memorials.
Senior Connections receives federal funding under the provisions of the Older Americans Act and state funds administered by the Viriginia Department for the Aging. Funding is also provided by city and county governments.
Senior Connections seeks to improve the overall quality of life for seniors and caregivers. There are more that 160,000 persons age 60 and older residing in our service areas. We provide a comprehensive range of home and community-based services (SEE LINKS AT LEFT). The Agency places special emphasis on assisting the frail and disadvantaged elderly who may be socially isolated and physically or economically at-risk.
Senior Connections, The Capital Area Agency on Aging also serves as an advocacy and education organization focused on issues that impact current and future retirees.
