Information and Assistance

Senior Connections, The Capital Area Agency on Aging's Information and Assistance Services receives approximately 19,000 calls annually from seniors and caregivers seeking assistance. The Agency's Intake Staff responds to these calls by providing the needed information and/or assistance. In some cases, callers may be referred to other community resources.

Information and Assistance help seniors an identify and locate services to meet their needs and interests. These services include:

  • Care Providers
  • Family Caregiver Support Groups
  • Home Care providers including Nursing Care
  • Home Repair programs
  • Insurance Providers
  • Independent and Subsidized Housing
  • Legal and Financial Planning
  • Long-term Care Facilities
  • Mental Health Services
  • Nutrition and Meal Preparation Programs
  • Respite and Adult Day Care Programs
  • Social Service Benefit programs
  • Transportation Services
  • Employment Training and Assistance
  • Money Management
  • Volunteer Opportunities

We have access to listings for hundreds of community resources in both public and private organizations. Informational brochures on the above subjects can be provided when available.
