April 15-21: National Volunteer Week: A Time to "Celebrate People In Action"
By commrels @ 3:23 AM :: 2732 Views

 Since 1974, our Nation has set aside time in April to recognize volunteers for their service to our communities. This year, April 15-21 has been designated as National Volunteer Week with the theme “Celebrating People of Action.” We proudly join this celebration as a time to recognize and give thanks to the hundreds of special volunteers who support our mission and vision. Every day, our volunteers freely contribute of their time, talents and resources to help others. They mentor our children, help seniors with their finances, support nursing home residents, reach out to the faith community, advocate for important causes, lift spirits with music and serve our community partners. Volunteers also enact policies and provide valuable guidance to programs. We are most grateful to have volunteers who make a difference for the individuals we serve. Please join us in celebrating “people of action” during April and throughout the year. We have many volunteer opportunities at Senior Connections. Please consider joining our volunteers this year. Meanwhile, we wish to thank and recognize all volunteers, current and future. Thank you for making the spirit of volunteerism a vital part of our communities.
