For the past nine years, the Richmond Metropolitan Region has generously supported our Empty Plate Campaign.  The Campaign, which ends on December 31, 2012, generates funds to fill the "empty plates" of older adults with meals, rides, home care, medications, information, volunteer support and other opportunities.  The Campaign also provides the opportunity to recognize community leaders who improve the quality of life for older adults.  We are grateful that we will be celebrating the 10th Anniversity of our Empty Plate Campaign in 2013.

Thanks to all of the supporters of our 2012 Empty Plate Campaign.  This successful effort culminated with a luncheon and awards ceremony attended by more than 400 people at the Science Museum of Virginia.  Presenting sponsors were the Science Museum, Dominion Virginia Power, Genworth and M.H. West & Co., Inc.  We are indeed thankful to all sponsors, donors, steering committee members, celebrity servers, award recipients and partners who contributed to the success of this year's effort.  As a result of the Community's generosity, we are able to serve more senior adults and their families.  These services will enable them to remain in their homes and communities with greater independence and needed supports.

We are still accepting contributions to fill more "empty plates" for needy seniors.  Contributions may be made on our website or sent to us at 24 East Cary Street, Richmond, VA 23219.  We appreciate your consideration of a year-end gift to Senior Connections.  Best wishes are extended for the holiday season and a glorious year in 2013.  Again, thanks for filling "empty plates" and warming hearts!
