Volunteers are a vital resource to Senior Connections, especially in service to frail and economically disadvantaged seniors. Our Agency provides volunteer opportunities for all ages and we are most appreciative of their dedicated service. As representatives of Senior Connections, volunteers provide support services to older adults and community organizations. Our programs offer both personal rewards and also fulfill a needed service.
Our volunteers receive:
- Training in communication, mediation and conflict resolution
- Opportunities to meet people from diverse backgrounds and share life experiences
- Opportunities to positively influence the lives of older adults
- Opportunities to stay mentally active through intergenerational friendships
- Invitations to other networking opportunities in your community
- Volunteer job training and skill development
- Selective placement in their area of interest
- Travel reimbursement for local travel associated with volunteer activity
- Limited liability insurance coverage while performing assigned duites
- Monthly newsletter with timely volunteer information
- An annual recognition event
